A Day in London Part Two: Disney and Harrods

Hello everyone,

Previously I had shared with you our adventures through London during our August 2015 trip, that included M&M's World and the Nickelodeon Store. Now I want to share with you our experiences at the Disney Store and Harrods in London.

Let's start with the Disney Store in Covent Garden, which has to be one of the smallest Disney Stores I have ever seen! I like this store though because it embraces its West End location with nods to traditional West End theatre and plays, including its wall paintings of Disney characters in J M Barrie's Peter Pan.

There is another Disney Store not too far away, on Oxford Street, which is considered the flagship store of the UK. I have never been a big fan of the new style stores, and the ones in the US - particularly New York City - are especially disappointing, however, I do like the London store, and I think it is probably the best one of the new style that I have visited. During this trip they had a giant pumpkin carriage set up from the new live action Cinderella movie. It was actually really neat, because on one side it was the golden carriage, and on the other side it was the pumpkin.

At the Harrods department store in Knightsbridge there is an officially licensed Disney Cafe, which to my knowledge, is the only one of its kind in the world, as well as the only official Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique outside of a Disney Park, and another Disney Store. We stopped by the Disney Cafe and tried some afternoon cream tea; and actually it was pretty nice.

Let's take a look inside the Harrods Disney Store now. I like this store in a strange way, as it is very open, and has a unique feel to it. They also usually have some items unique to Harrods, too. I'll also share some photos of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique below.

After our adventures at the Disney Cafe and Harrods Disney Store we walked around other areas of Harrods, which for us mostly involved the "Harrods Store" (which is basically the "cheap" department!) and the toy section. The Christmas shop was also open already, much to our delight.

Going to London is always an adventure, and there is so much to explore. I look forward to returning next year again.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Dan.
